The FIA Prize Giving event held in Baku was a night to remember as champions from the world of motorsport gathered to be celebrated. Hosted by FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem, the grand ceremony was organized by the Azerbaijan Automobile Federation (AAF), with the support of the City of Baku and the Baku City Circuit. This prestigious event, sponsored by Rolex, Hankook Tire & Technology, and Brembo, brought together the best in the industry to honor the outstanding achievements of the past year.

A Night of Celebrations

Under the glittering lights of Baku, the evening was filled with excitement and anticipation. From established names to rising stars, the FIA Prize Giving recognized the accomplishments of drivers and teams in various competitions. It was a true testament to the spirit of motorsport and the passion that drives these individuals to greatness.

Max Verstappen's Triumph

Max Verstappen stole the show as he received the FIA Formula One World Championship for Drivers trophy for the third time in his career. Verstappen's remarkable season included an impressive 19 wins out of 22 races. Breaking records and pushing his limits, Verstappen's dedication to his craft shone through. In his own words, "These kind of great moments don't come along that often."

Toyota Gazoo Racing's Success

Toyota Gazoo Racing had a triumphant evening, claiming multiple titles across different competitions. Kalle Rovanperä and Jonne Halttunen secured their second set of trophies as the FIA World Rally Championship champions for the second consecutive year. Meanwhile, Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley, and Ryō Hirakawa were crowned FIA Hypercar World Endurance Drivers' Champions, with Toyota Gazoo Racing clinching their fifth consecutive FIA WEC Manufacturers' title. Additionally, Nasser Al-Attiyah and Mathieu Baumel successfully defended their FIA World Rally-Raid Drivers' and Co-Drivers' Championships.

The Next Generation Shines

Among the honorees of the evening were promising young talents who are making their mark in the world of motorsport. Théo Pourchaire and Gabriel Bortoleto received trophies for their respective Formula 2 and Formula 3 titles, symbolizing their potential to become future stars. The kart racers Paolo Ippolito, Kirill Kutskov, and Dries Van Langendonck were also recognized for their victories in the KZ, OK, and Junior categories.

Special Awards and Recognition

The FIA Prize Giving event also presented special awards to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the sport. Oscar Piastri was awarded the FIA Rookie of the Year prize, while Sadiq Kalawadh of Bahrain was recognized as the FIA Outstanding Official of the Year. Fernando Alonso's breathtaking overtake on the final lap of the Brazilian Grand Prix earned him the FIA Action of the Year award. Christian von Koenigsegg was honored with the FIA President's Innovation Medal for his lifelong achievements in automotive engineering.
